Little by little over this year I stopped being so nervous and gained my confidence as a mother. I feel confident in my mommy-hood about 90% of the time these days and it's a wonderful feeling of absolute purpose in life. That other 10% will, I'm certain, forever be hanging in the back waiting to creep up on me. Just this week that feeling of helplessness jumped to the forefront of my mind, but that's a post for another day. On to my darling Lily's first birthday....

At 12 months old Lily is now completely on finger foods. She is a great eater and enjoys almost anything we put in front of her. I'm going to enjoy this while it lasts. I hear it's really common for formerly great eaters to go picky all of a sudden between 12 and 18 months old.
Lily is walking a lot more these days - now typically choosing walking over crawling. Her babbling is becoming much more talkative sounding. Just recently she said bye-bye with a wave. Overall, she's just turning into more and more of a little girl every day.
Lily's party was last weekend in Marble Falls. We did a Sugar & Spice theme with a pink, orange and brown color scheme and vanilla and spice cupcakes. Lily was incredibly spoiled with very generous gifts. Thank you to everyone who made Lily's first birthday so special!
